Welcome to the GLBT Virtual Community Center
In January of 2003 a group of local community leaders met to explore the idea of starting a community center here in Sarasota. This dedicated group of individuals spent a year in broad-based activities to determine feasibility and support for such a venture.
The Manasota GLBT Community Center was incorporated in the spring of 2004 after a year long feasibility study conducted by a group of local community leaders. This group found that there is in fact a need for a place that offers access to support, networking, socializing and activities … a place where visitors and newcomers can go to find the vibrant local gay community …. a place to feel connected. GaySarasota.com was launched in March of 2004 and has been a vital resource for the community for five years, garnering up to 50,000 visitors per month as a result of networking and linking with other organizations and websites.
We are proud to present this VIRTUAL Community Center and thank you for visiting.
